Fall/Winter Shares will have between 6 and 8 items, and often contain culinary herbs.
We have two share sizes.
The Standard Share is designed to provide a week's worth of vegetables for 2 to 3 adults or one enthusiastic vegetable eater.
The Double Share is designed to provide a week's worth of vegetables for 4 adults’ daily servings, 2 adults and 2 to 3 younger children, or 2 enthusiastic vegetable eaters.
Do you need a larger share? We can help you. Call or come by the Farm Store.
For the Spring CSA, we deliver bags to the off-farm pick up points to ensure that CSA members get their full share. Items may be traded for things in the booth.
Our Market Style CSA pick up gives you flexibility of what you want in your share. Some people, for example, like lots of radishes and lettuce, while others want no radishes and lots of kale. It tends to work out well.
Each week there is a list with amounts for the Standard Share. Double Shares get two Standard Shares. Plus, you can substitute from the produce that is in the Farm Store that is not on the CSA list.
Most or all of the produce will be in our Cooler House or on our tables. We will keep it stocked during the Farm Store hours. The CSA and the Farm Store are twoice a week and CSA Members should pick up their shares when the Farm Store open, but that is not required. If you pick up outside of the Farm Store hours, we will do our best to make sure you have a complete share.
The CSA is at the Farm Store. When the Poulsbo Farmers Market and the Bremerton Farmers Market are open you can designate to pick up your share there.
Our Market Style CSA is part of our commitment to being gentle on the Earth. While both plastic bags and paper bags will be available, we encourage you will bring your own bags so that the CSA is even more ecologically sustainable.
Our Summer CSA Started the 1st. 2nd, or 6th of June depending on your pick up location, and continues for 20 weeks.
You will find 6 to 10 items in your share plus culinary herbs. Over its 20 weeks, your share will include a wide variety of produce. This includes: summer greens, peas, corn, carrots, green beans, butter beans, kale, collards, potatoes, garlic, summer squash, winter squash, lettuce, radishes, braising greens, cabbage, mustard greens, kohlrabi, fennel, hot peppers, tomatoes, and more. The vegetables in your share will vary week to week to reflect what is ripe that week. There will pumpkins, sunchokes, Brussels Sprouts, root vegetables, and more later in the summer..
Our meat chickens are raised as nature meant them to live: in the fresh air, sunshine and rain, eating grass, insects, and soil. We supplement their diet with certified organic feed. They arrive as 1 or 2 day old chicks and live in a brooder in our barn. At three weeks we move them outside to eat, scratch, and sun themselves. They live in a large chicken tractor -- a funny name for a chicken coop and yard that we move daily. The chicken tractor keeps them safe from aerial predators, such as eagles and hawks.
We process them in our on-farm WSDA/USDA processing trailer. Fresh chicken is available at our Farm Store several times a year. Frozen chicken is usually available at our Farm Store, the Bremerton Farmers Market, and the Poulsbo Farmers Market.
